Whether you’re upgrading your sign or moving to a new location, there will come a time when you’ll need sign removal. Once we remove the sign, you’ll likely notice that the imprint of the sign remains, along with unsightly brackets, holes and discoloration from where the sign attached to the wall. Because of this, when you get a sign removed, you’ll also need wall remediation services to restore the area where the sign was placed.

The Sign Removal Process

First thing’s first, we’ll sit down with you and discuss a variety of issues, including:

  • Why you need your signage removed
  • What your expectations are
  • What we’ll need to do to achieve proper removal and replacement

Once we’ve gone over the details of the process with you we’ll get started with removal services. While we’re removing the sign and preparing to put up a new one, we’ll want to make sure everyone is away from the building at the time for safety purposes. You should also make sure that the sign is 100% powered down and unplugged, if you’re able to do so.  If not we will assist.

Remediation

Once the original sign is down, we’ll be able to see any hidden details and begin remediation. This may require us to fill holes, paint, drywall or bring in an EIFS contractor to renew impacted  parts of the existing structure. Once that process is finished, and prior to painting, we’ll bring in a power-wash crew as needed to make sure that all imperfections from the remediation process are removed.

Exactly what we’ll need to do for your sign remediation process will depend on a couple of things:

  • Type of damage
  • Whether or not you plan on replacing the sign in the same spot
  • Expectations/plans for that area of the wall

Additionally, we’ll make sure that any live wires are properly turned off to ensure the safety of pedestrians, clients and employees. Once the old sign is down and we’ve put the wall back in good shape, we’ll properly dispose of the old sign for you.
