While it is true that the groundhog predicted an early Spring in 2020, it is no secret that the east coast is always susceptible to winter storms even into late February and March. This weather, along with some of the rain we have endured this winter, can leave weathering effects on all outdoor décor – including signage! Here are some signage related tips to keep in mind as we enter the final leg of winter!
Inspect the Integrity of Your Signage
Because of the high winds and adverse weather conditions of winter, you should periodically inspect the integrity of your signage. Fasteners can face wear and tear and can slowly become less secure over time. By keeping an eye on the integrity of your signage throughout the year, you can be sure that it will remain safe and reliable throughout the roughest portions of the winter.
Replace Lights
Nothing looks worse than a sign that isn’t properly illuminated! Check out your signage to make sure it is still well lit. If not, now would be a great time replace lamps other electrical components so that your business’ signage is all ready to go for the upcoming Spring. If the lamps are working well but still a little too dim for these dark winter nights, it may be time to look into upgrading to higher brightness LED illumination.
Speaking of Lighting: Don’t Forget About Daylight Savings!
Daylight saving time will begin Sunday, March 8, which means longer days are just over the horizon! Be sure to mark your calendar and ensure your signage lighting schedule accounts for the spring forward. If you are unsure whether or not your signage lights are properly configured, your signage provider will be able to advise you.
